About ICTV:

Indigenous Community Television (ICTV) is a look-live news, special interest, and current affairs program presented in various Australian Indigenous languages.


Our vision is to strengthen culture and community through the power of moving-image, and our purpose is to improve the lives of Indigenous Australians, especially those who live in remote areas, through access to cultural and community video content.


We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Deputy News Director to join our team in Alice Springs.

Your Next Opportunity:

Join us as the Deputy News Director at Indigenous Community Television (ICTV), where you'll be at the heart of shaping our Community News Bulletins. Your role will be pivotal not just in crafting compelling news stories, but also in nurturing the talents of our junior journalists, language workers, cadets, and presenters.

Here, we offer a one-of-a-kind opportunity to collaborate with our News Director in the creation of Community News that spans multiple languages, from Western Arrernte to Warlpiri, Pitjantjatjara, and accessible English.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Researching and writing news stories with specific interest to audiences in remote Indigenous communities
  • Contributing to editorial input under the direction of the News Director
  • Facilitating training for newsroom cadets
  • Liaising with contributor organisations and individuals regarding the submission of news content
